A century of civil excellence
Identity design, 100 year unit and collateral design for Union Public Service Commission
This project celebrates 100 years of the Union Public Service Commission, an institution that has shaped India’s administrative backbone since 1926. The centenary identity reinterprets the Commission’s legacy through a modern lens, symbolising integrity, inclusivity, transparency, and continual evolution. As part of the official project commissioned to NID Haryana, I contributed by designing & refining the logo, creating the primary wordmark, and developing the visual identity system that connects a rich history with a forward-looking vision. Designed to honour a century of excellence and nation-building, the system reflects the UPSC’s enduring commitment to service and its evolving role in shaping India’s future.
The UPSC logo embodies the Commission’s role as a guardian of trust, merit, and nation-building. Its circular form represents continuity, unity, and the unbroken cycle of service upheld for a century. At the centre sits the national emblem, symbolising authority and integrity, supported by a custom wordmark that also serves as the secondary mark. Surrounding it is a wreath of banyan leaves drawn from the banyan tree, a symbol of wisdom, stability, and resilience reflecting UPSC’s role in nurturing leadership. Anchoring the design, a ribbon inscribed with “संघ लोक सेवा आयोग” reinforces the institution’s purpose and enduring commitment to public service.
